    Dear All

Attached please find a letter addressed to the parish priest of Vettucad
church. You may see how Mr. Edison of Shilpi Construction Cochin and
    Architect Mr. Sebastian
have altered Architect Mr.K.J.Peter’s design and submitted for the same project.

    To
    His Grace,
Most Rev. Dr. M. Soosa Pakiam L.S.S.S., Thl.
    Latin Archbishop’s House, Vellayambalam, P.B. No. 805,Trivandrum,
    Kerala, India – 695 003

I would like to introduce myself as the Architect who has been working
on the design for the proposed Madre De Deus Church at Vettucaud,
Trivandrum. I was commissioned this project about 4 years ago by the
then parish priest and committee members. Since then I have been
working in close discussion with the priest and all the committee
members, also making about 40 to 50 perspective views and respective 2D
drawings to satisfy each and every committee member. I have worked for
so long only to make this one of the best churches around.

I have submitted the finally approved drawings to all the necessary
government departments for approval. I have also submitted all relevant
documents necessary to invite contractors for construction by last
    June.

After a long period of silence from the church the next thing I hear
and see is that my drawings, without my knowledge, have been given to
another architect, who has only modified my design by adding a few
domes and other elements and making the height to 125 ft. to 130 ft.
The brief given to me from the beginning clearly stated that the height
of the new church has to be restricted to the height of the existing
tower which is about 68 ft. If they wanted any change in my design,
they just needed to approach me for that, which I would have obliged
    without any hesitation.

In my experience in design and execution of more than 40 churches in
India and abroad I have not encountered this type of an experience with
    anybody so far.

Let me put it very clearly that this is not to blame anybody. I am
writing this mainly because I am very disturbed about the rather
unfair turn of events regarding this project. An ordinary layman like
me looks up on religious leaders like you and the spiritual
subordinates under you for guidance in our day to day life. I only
want to know if whatever happened was right.

Please find attached, a document with a letter addressed to the Parish
priest and committee members and a recently published newspaper
    article.

Please remember me in your prayers.

    Regards,
    KJ Peter
