Vegetable Fest in trivandrum

The vegetable and fruit promotion council is organizing a vegetable fest in university ground premises. The event was inaugurated by Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran yesterday.The trivandrum vegetable fest is one among hundreds of such fests organized by Agriculture department,Vegetable and Fruit Promotion Council, Horticorp and State Horticulture Mission Jointly.
The main objective of these vegetable fests is to collect vegetables directly from the farmers and make them available to the consumers at a reasonable rate. There are also plans to deliver winter crops such as cabbage, carrot and potato from Vattavada and Kanthalloor in Idukki district and distribute the items across the State.
A discount of 30 percent will be given for vegetables. The vegetable fest is on from Tuesday to Sunday from 8 am to 7 pm. Apart from vegetables, coconut oil at Rs 56 per litre will also be sold at these outlets.
