When Dr. Shashi Tharoor won the election for Parliament from Trivandrum, there were talks in the air on transforming the city into the Boston or Cambridge of India. Though Barcelona has replaced the renowned learning centers when connection to Trivandrum is explored, it is a well known fact that when it comes to premier educational institutes and R&D organizations Trivandrum stands head and shoulders above contemporary Indian cities.

In fact, Trivandrum hosts the maximum number of  premier Educational and R&D institutions outside the big Metros.

Here are the most notable of those institutions which Trivandrumites could well be proud of! (The list is not a fully comprehensive one)

We can only brag about the number of educational and R&D institutions we have in Kerala. Makes us feel proud that we lead other states, but has the good that has come of it been put back to the progress of our state?
