Sreekanteswaram temple devoted to Lord Siva well is within city limits and deserves special mention as it is one of the largest Siva Temples in town. The idol is said to be Swayambhu meaning self born. Shrines dedicated to other Gods are also present. The temple is just one kilometer away from Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple.
Well moving out of the city and driving towards Kovalam we reach the Sree Parasurama temple at Thiruvallam. This temple is unique as it has a shrine dedicated to Brahma as there aren’t any temple dedicated to Brahma elsewhere. Devotees throng to offer Bali to the ancestors since the place is a confluence of three rivers one of which is the Karamana river.
Further down the district at Neyattinakra is the Arivipuram Siva Temple belonging to SNDP and established by Sree Narayana Guru himself. This temple is where one can find solace in the almighty without any caste or creed barriers.
These temples are well huge and noteworthy and numerous devotees throng these temples but the district is also doted with other large and small temples which offer solace who seek them.
