Travan prelims model hunt got a huge reception in Trivandrum. Around 81 models participated in the event. Travan trendz and Dalu fashion factory jointly organised the event. Even though participation of girls were much lesser than expected nobody never knew Trivandrum had such passion for Fashion. Trivandrum was not a glamorous city until July 11. July 11 saw the best Trivandrum can offer and it was surprising.
One special feature of this campaign was that age never mattered in any of the audition rounds. Anybody who was interested could participate in the event. Age limit never stopped anyone. A kid of age 9 and an adult of age 35 participated in the event. This showed the will and dedication in the participants. The 9 year old , Adil who started audition rounds in group of 5 adults did a ramp walk and faced questions from the jury , Mr Dalu himself was one of them and Diya menon , got selected for further grooming sessions . Out of the 81 participants, 39 got selected for the further grooming sessions supervised by the master himself.
Dalu, fashion choreographer and consultant is an expert in the field with over a decade of experience. He has choreographed hundreds of shows including Miss South India and is the man behind a rare feat, for conducting sunsilk Miss South India continuously for 7 consecutive years, Miss Kerala, Mr Kerala, Miss Tamil Nadu, Miss Karnataka, Miss Andhra Pradesh are some of his prestigious shows to name a few.
The event was organised by Travan trendz , a group of young enthusiastic people from Trivandrum. When it comes to fashion Trivandrum has always occupied a rear seat. So its quite encouraging to see the State Capital finally shedding its inhibitions . The winners will get a direct entry to the Mr and Miss Travancore contest later this year.

on July 24th, 2010Incidentally Adil, the kid who participated in the hunt and got selected is my 2nd son. He also attended a 2 day grooming session along with the adults at Hotel Classic avenue, Thampanoor. Mr. Dalu was there for the grooming session. What he liked best during these days was the buffet spread!!!
