Software Freedom Day celebrations in Trivandrum

Software Freedom Day to be celebrated in schools on September 24! A special assembly will be held in all schools on the occasion. IT@School will be organizing IT competitions and speeches for the students. ViCTERS channel will be telecasting special programmes related on free software for more than seven-and-a-half-hour duration on the due day. Software Freedom Day is celebrated on September 19 worldwide and as part of this, special programmes that include are Stallman’s speech, programmes on free software packages used for mathematics, science and other subjects, INSIGHT project for the visually-challenged using free software, cinemas that have come up on the theme such as ‘Good Copy Bad Copy’ and ‘Revolution OS’ and methods to use the free software packages with ease.
