Shashi Tharoor’s first Onam in Kerala

It was the first Onam in Kerala for Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor. He celebrated the traditional Thiru Onam lunch at an orphanage. As a student, he always celebrated the harvest festival either in Mumbai, Delhi or Kolkata, where he was studying at different times.
On the occasion of Onam celebrations, he said he wished to be in the midst of those who do not anyone and so he celebrated his Onam at an orphanage. Dr. Tharoor was invited as a guest to take part in the inaugural function of its Onam celebrations
