Kerala – The best tourist destination once again

And here comes good news to be proud about Kerala. God’s Own Country has been rated the best the best tourist destination in India according to a survey conducted by the Neilsen Company on the behalf of the Outlook magazine. This survey has definitely come as a big endorsement for the Brand Kerala. According to the survey, Kerala is also the second best state for winter destination after Goa. In the category of beach destinations, Kerala occupies the fourth place. The highlight of this survey is about Kochi – coastal city of Kerala. Kochi has emerged as the sixth best city for tourists after Jaipur, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. This rating has come with the increasing number of international tourists in Kerala, which grew from 6.5 lakhs in the year 2010 to 7.3 lakhs in the year 2012. The number of domestic tourists grew from 85 lakhs to 93 lakhs. The total foreign exchange earnings grew by 11.81 percent to touch Rs 4221 crore and the total earning grew to 9.40 percent to reach Rs 19037 crore.
