Kerala Coir Fest ends today

The Kerala Coir Fest ends today. Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan announced this year as ‘Coir Year’ as a part of nationwide awareness to promote coir and coir products.
Coir industry Contribute a major share of Kerala’s foriegn Export. A large number of people in Districts like Alapuzha find their living through the coir industry.
As a part of promotion, an exhibition was held at the University College Campus from May 18th-21st, 2010 where coir and the coir products were displayed…Coir made cutlery, bags, mats, mattress and equipments from which weavers make coir.
