‘ Glimpses of Kerala ‘ – Painting Exhibition in Trivandrum

Alliance Française de Trivandrum in association with the Embassy of France in India will present ‘GLIMPSES OF KERALA’: an exhibition of paintings by Sheeba Manghat Narayanan. The exhibition will be inaugurated by noted Malayalam litterateur, Dr Chandrika Balan (Chandramati) at 5.30pm on 7 August at Art gallery, Alliance Française de Trivandrum.
The exhibition is a first time presentation of works by Sheeba Manghat Narayanan. The theme of the paintings is on Kerala, Keralites, and nostalgia and also on the disappearing ways of life of Malayalees. GLIMPSES OF KERALA is a series of 21 paintings which happened as a result of nostalgia, evoked by her being abroad for a few years. Keralites abroad are the ones that really know the goodness in the home land which we often fail to recognise. Her paintings evoke nostalgia in the Malayalee heart and untold yearning for the losing charm.
