The Confederation of Indian Industry organized a seminar today at the Taj Residency here at Trivandrum. The topic under the scanner was IT in Kerala. The panelists include Mr. Shibulal of Infosys, It secretary Dr. Ajay Kumar, Ernest & Young partner Mr. Anand, CMD of IBS Mr. V.K.Mathews and Mr. Vijayaraghavan. Mr. Mathews was the moderator and in the end he summarized the seminar with what he called the “take-aways” of the seminar. these were 1. Improving the education to bring and attract IT in Kerala. 2. The improvement of social infrastructure along with IT infrastructure and 3. The role of the government in ensuring that it is IT industry pro. Members of the floor posed some serious questions which were given due regards. Everyone did recognize Kerala as an exiting place for IT industry to grow but what required was a cooperative effort form all the sections to do so. Formation of Kasscom on the lines of Nasscom was also mooted to bring the IT industry in Kerala under one umbrella for the betterment of the industry in Kerala.
