Akkulam and Veli Tourist Village

Akkulam tourist village is in Thiruvanathapuram District of Kerala just 10 kilometers from the city center. It is popular among picnic lovers. This is the place where the Akkulam Lake extends into the Arabian Sea. The southern air command is located at Akkulam. Facilities for boating and other water sports are available. Facility for stay is available with the help of a houseboat. Children’s park and a musical fountain are added attractions.
Veli Tourist Village is located on the fringes of the Veli lagoon on the outskirts of the Trivandrum City. There is a boat club at Veli which attracts a lot of visitors and provides facilities for a wide variety of sports. The place is excellent for an outing for the water sports and the calm atmosphere it provides. The lake is a popular destination with its palm fringed beaches and is easily accessible by road and other means.
