Adding meaning to "TO PROTECT AND TO SERVE"

This was truly a proud moment for The Kerala Police and all keralites as well ; when at around 9 in the morning a brand new red indica failed to start at the signal in front of the Corporation office Trivandrum. To my astonishment, Even before onlookers could react Three policemen rushed to the scene and instead of their regular masochistic verbal/physical abuse they literally started pushing the car out of the way for traffic. Although some forgive-ably small amount of swearing from the trio were heard, they were drowned in face of the bigger picture. ie ‘SERVICE’.
This pic was snapped at around 9:00 am May 15, 2010.

  1. Great snap….[:)]

  2. Claps..Claps..Claps..!
In all cases there will be a minority, Problem Makers.. Else the system is fine. Usually problem makers stay on top of the hierarchy.

@ sujith ; thanx ,the pic was of better quality …but the site somehow reduced it…

@ Ben ; Thank you for ur appreciation… but i am sorry to disagree with you on the matter of ‘Problem Makers’ . I am a person who believes that the ‘police’ as a whole are just a glorified version of a petty henchman. Although an unavoidable part of the so called ‘mordern society’, When seen from a different perspective ,the police are henchmen ( the hero type ) who do the biddings of the government. But when left to their own unsupervised self, they start showing their true devious colours. Sorry to say so but this is just my personal opinion rammified by sore personal experiences direct and inderiect. Although it will be unfair if i dont add that there are exceptions for the above said… I certianly have great respect for them.

Good Pic! And Kudos to the police and fellow citizens.

However, I feel they deserve a little more credit. A lot of them are fairly sincere in their job… while being paid pathetically. Also consider how many drivers willingly stop at a red signal when there is no traffic, or park within a designated area.

Great photo. But i hope this one is not an indica car…

    Thank you Policekara!!

Our young police force are smart and genuine, But our old police EMAN’s and the politicians never will allowe them to do act as polic for society.

@Renganathan : It definitely an indica and a brand new one for that matter, (for Regn).

    @ashok true true…

  10. Good to see the humane side of our Kerala Police! :)

Poilce does a largely thankless job. Not mentioning it being the hardest social service, our Poilce-staff is being harassed and forced to play to the tunes of the useless and hypocritical political class. Good work Subin, the men surely need some appreciation for the work they do.

@ genius : thank you sir, I do agree with you on the matter that they are just tools in the hands of our HONORABLE ministers…

But when looking at the problems of our society from a wider frame / perspective, they form just a small part of the equation.

please watch this 1 hour video I feel that this video does justice in portraying not just the problems faced by humanity as a whole but also an ultimate solution to them .Although I found the solution a bit utopian for our present times, It has set me thinking ….. trust me ,Its worth the wait !!

Great snap…covered timely something which is indeed rare to see !! :-)
Let these guys be atleast congratulated straight from our heart, ‘coz their work will always go unnoticed in the eyes of those topping the hierarchy who simply does some “tricky-smart-work” instead of Hard-Work like those guys in the snap..!!

So a whole round of applause :-)

  13. Subin Mathew
