50 year old building of Uduppi Tourist home near Trivandrum central Railway station collapsed in the afternoon.The lodge building, which was under renovation in Thampanoor partially collapsed around 3:30 pm. Atleast 8 construction workers from Assam and Tamilnadu are feared trapped inside the collapsed building.

Rescue workers under the leadership of MLA Sri Sivan Kutty is still searching for those trapped inside the building. Huge ball of dust and smoke are making the search difficult. Meanwhile Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has requested for  Military support from the centre.
