‘Short’ movie magic in the city

sp18-a_1Asian Hot Shot Film Festival-Berlin, the two-day film festival will be hosted by the city this week. The event is scheduled to be held on August 21 and 22. The Goethe-Zentrum Thiruvananthapuram is bringing the movie magic. You’ll get to see short films and video art from around the globe. Around 15 short films will be showcased at the two-day festival. The screening of the films will be done at the Amphitheatre of the Goethe-Zentrum near the University Senate Hall. The festival focuses on independent film-makers who interpret their experience of globalization and its transformations through their films.

The star-attraction of the festival will be the entry ‘The Legend of Shiva and Parvathy’ by Krishna Saraswathi. Some of the short films to be screened are ‘Saving Mom and Dad’ from India, ‘Gandhi at the Bat’ from the USA, ‘Go Work’ from Singapore and ‘Cloudy Rains’ from Indonesia. Films from China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia and India will be there.  The screenings on both days will be managed by Tina Lange from Berlin, co-founder of Green Chillies.
